Meet Our Pastor
The Rev. Michael A. Hibbs comes to Galesville, Wisconsin from Windom, Minnesota where he has served as pastor to the First Presbyterian Church, Windom, since November 1987.
His roots are in Nebraska. He grew up on a farm near O’Neill, in the north central part of the state. Michael graduated from O’Neill Public High School in 1973. He briefly attended Junior College in Norfolk, Nebraska. Shortly following that brief experience in college he was employed for three years as a heavy equipment operator for Holt County, Nebraska. Following that employment, Michael attended Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska, receiving his B.S. in 1980, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He graduated from the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa in 1983. During his time in seminary he served the two small congregations of Scales Mound and Apple River in northwestern Illinois. Michael was ordained by the Presbytery of Central Nebraska on January 23, 1984.
Michael’s first call to ministry, following ordination, was as an Associate Pastor at the First Presbyterian Church in Hastings, Nebraska. He served in that position until he moved to Minnesota in 1987.
Michael and his wife, Janice, have one daughter, Karissa. They are also the proud grandparents of two granddaughters (Kaila and Olivia) and a grandson (Jackson). Kari and her husband, Jeremy and their children live in Brownsdale, Minnesota, which is ten miles north of Austin, Minnesota.
